The PLEA 2024 Conference, themed "(Re)thinking resilience," will take place from June 25 to 28, 2024, in Wrocław, Poland. This 37th PLEA Conference on Sustainable Architecture and Urban Design marks the first time the event will be held in Poland and central Europe. The conference aims to discuss urgent topics related to the built environment's role in climate change mitigation and adaptation.
Keynote speakers include Joana Carla Soares Gonçalves, Mattheos Santamouris, and Ewa Maria Kuryłowicz, who will address various aspects of sustainable urban development, climate resilience, and innovative architectural practices. The conference will feature plenary sessions, technical sessions, and on-site visits, including guided tours and additional events.
The event is hosted by Wrocław University of Science and Technology and will be held at the university's Congress Centre, as well as at the Museum of Architecture and Centennial Hall. The conference is open to professionals, academics, and students from over 40 countries who share PLEA's objectives and are interested in sustainable architecture and urban design.
